Your Data Stays Yours
Here's a fun exercise: pick any app on your phone and count how many third-party SDKs it loads. Analytics, crash reporting, attribution, A/B testing, ad networks — the list goes on. Most apps phone home the moment you open them, and you'd never know it.
We decided early on that our apps would work differently. We don’t run servers that collect your data, and most of our apps never send anything anywhere. Where an app does use the internet — syncing through your own iCloud account, checking your pronunciation when your phone can’t do it offline, importing a recipe from the web — our privacy policy says so, app by app.
No accounts, no analytics, no tracking
None of our apps require you to create an account. There's no sign-up screen, no email collection, no "log in with Google." You download the app, open it, and start using it. That's it.
We also don't use any analytics or tracking tools. No Firebase, no Amplitude, no Mixpanel. The one exception is Mabebe, which can send an anonymous crash report through Sentry — but only if you switch it on in Settings. Apart from the anonymous totals Apple and Google show every developer, we don't know how often you open our apps, and we have no idea which features you use the most. And honestly? That's fine. We'd rather build something good and trust that people will tell us if something's broken.
Apps that work offline
Because nothing needs to reach a server of ours, our apps are built to work offline: lessons, audio, documents and journals all live on your phone. A few things need a connection by nature — buying the full version, syncing with your own iCloud, and, on some devices, a speech check — and the privacy policy lists them for each app. ID-Shield lets you watermark and redact identity documents without connecting to the internet. Your passport photos, ID scans, and driving license images are processed right there on your phone, and they never leave it unless you turn on iCloud Sync, which copies them only to your own iCloud account.
Calmara, our relaxation and focus app, stores your journal entries, breathing session history, and mood logs locally using Apple's SwiftData. Your personal reflections stay personal. If you record custom ambient sounds, those stay on-device too.
Vaultly handles your finances — transactions, budgets, savings goals, and tax records. They live on your device and, if you're signed in to iCloud, sync through your own private iCloud account (you can turn that off). You can lock the app with Face ID or Touch ID. No server of ours, no data mining — just your numbers.
Why this matters
Privacy isn't just a feature checkbox for us. It's a design principle. When you're sharing sensitive documents with ID-Shield, writing in your journal with Calmara, or tracking your spending with Vaultly, you shouldn't have to wonder who else can see that data.
The answer with our apps is always the same: nobody but you, and the people you choose to share with.
We think more apps should work this way. And until they do, we'll keep building ours the way we believe they should be built.
